Announces Return of Canadian Franchisee Association
ATLANTA,
September 24, 2007 – The National Franchisee Association
(NFA) today announced that the Canadian Franchisee Association
(CFA) is rejoining the NFA after nearly two years’ absence.
The Canadian organization represents approximately 150 franchised
BURGER KING® restaurants.
“The
return of the Canadian Franchisee Association underscores the
value NFA membership can provide BURGER KING franchisees,”
said Frank J. Capaldo, NFA Executive Director and CEO. “The
CFA’s return is the result of a joint effort between NFA
Chairman Joseph Anghelone and the CFA’s Board of Directors.”
“When
the Canadian Franchisee Association was last a member of the NFA,
we were in a different place in our relationship with our franchisor,”
said Joseph Anghelone. “The NFA leadership and I have worked
to rejuvenate the relationship between franchisees and franchisor.
Our most valued member service is the NFA’s role as advocate
on behalf of all NFA members, and we welcome the opportunity to
share that service with our Canadian members.”
“The
Canadian Franchisee Association has been greatly impressed with
the improvement in the franchisee-franchisor relationship over
the past 20 months and we look forward to benefiting from the
NFA’s advocacy across all of North America.” said
CFA Director Michael Eddington.
The NFA is
comprised of regional associations of BURGER KING franchisees.
As part of its membership in the NFA, the Canadian Franchisee
Association will also benefit from the NFA’s ability to
help strengthen the Canadian organization on a regional level
through its Project Regional Strengthening program. “The
NFA can also help us improve communications among Canadian franchisees
and develop a stronger, more active regional franchisee association,”
Eddington said.
CFA Director
Mike Lacombe will represent the Canadian Franchisee Association
on the NFA Board of Directors. CFA Directors and members at large
will meet with the NFA officer group in late October in Niagara
Falls, Canada.
The National
Franchisee Association serves the BURGER KING® franchisee community
through advocacy, government relations, education and training,
networking and member-focused programs, services and benefits. In
addition to Canadian franchisees, the NFA represents approximately
1,200 franchisees in the United States.
